About Me
Having experienced first-hand how counselling can help us make sense of our experiences, I was inspired to retrain in 2019 and dedicate my second career to supporting others. I believe there is something incredibly powerful about having the time and space to talk openly with someone who listens with warmth, empathy and without judgement. Whether you are carrying the weight of past experiences or struggling with challenges in the present, being truly heard can help you make sense of what you're going through, lighten the emotional load, and begin to move forward.
As a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support, I have had the privilege of working alongside adults who have experienced the pain of loss. I have witnessed the healing that can begin when people feel genuinely heard and accepted, often for the first time. This experience has reinforced my belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful agents for change.
I hold a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling and am currently completing a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am also a Student Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within its Ethical Framework.
I work from an integrative perspective, drawing primarily on humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches. This allows me to adapt therapy to your individual needs.
I have a particular professional interest in trauma, especially the lasting effects of childhood experiences and abuse, as well as bereavement. I also work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, identity issues and times of uncertainty or transition.
Rather than giving advice or telling you what to do, I see my role as walking alongside you. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with curiosity and compassion. I aim to create a warm, safe and non-judgemental environment where you can speak openly, reflect honestly, and begin to reconnect with your own strengths and resilience.
I also offer counselling in a comfortable therapy room in central Cambridge, with free parking available.
